Can the market shake off the bad news today?

The weekend brought a serious escalation on two fronts. Militarily, the US and Iran exchanged strikes over the weekend, and a Houthi attack halted operations at Saudi energy facilities, wounding 73 people — that's sent Brent crude surging toward $100/barrel (WTI near $93) and reignited the same inflation-and-rate-hike anxiety that's been dogging the tape all month, with the 10-year yield sitting around 4.80% and CME pricing now showing roughly a 60% probability the Fed hikes next week. On top of that, Canada's retaliatory tariffs on ~$20 billion of US goods take effect today, adding a fresh trade-war headwind on top of the energy shock. Futures are reflecting all of this.

Trade Ideas (2 With-Trend / 1 Counter-Trend)

1. With-Trend Short — Fade the Bounce Into PivotSell a bounce back into the 53,163-53,231 zone (pivot up toward the 45-68 pt statistical bounce band) if the 15-min stays bearish. Target S1 (52,990), stretch target S2 (52,869). Stop above R1 (53,284).

2. With-Trend Short — Breakdown ContinuationSell a break and hold below S1 (52,990), targeting S2 (52,869) and beyond on momentum continuation if the oil/Iran headline flow keeps intensifying through the session. Stop back above S1.

3. Counter-Trend Long — Oversold BounceBuy a reclaim/hold at S2 (52,869) or off any early-session low for a mean-reversion bounce back toward the pivot (53,163). Tight stop below the low being defended — this is the higher-risk idea given the broader tone is risk-off.
