Day-Trading Scenarios for Apr 14, 2026

Market continues its upward grind.

We have at least 3 elements of 4 flashing "buy the pullbacks."

First support zone is 48350 to 48299, then 48100 to 48070. Resistance is 48601 then 48639.

The Dow E-mini futures (YM, front-month June 2026 contract YMM6) settled at 48,425, up approximately +296 points (+0.62%) from Friday's close. The contract opened near 47,674 (or around 48,000 area in active trading), with an intraday range roughly spanning 47,534–48,457 before closing firmly higher. The cash Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 301.68 points (+0.63%) to close at 48,218.25.

The economic calendar includes the Producer Price Index (PPI) for March at 8:30 AM EDT (consensus expectations around wholesale inflation trends, offering another read on price pressures amid energy volatility). No major Fed speeches are highlighted immediately, though markets remain sensitive to any policy implications from recent inflation data.

Geopolitics continues as the primary catalyst: The two-week U.S.-Iran ceasefire holds tenuously, with reports of further talks or signals from both sides (including President Trump noting Iran’s interest in a “peace deal” while insisting on no nuclear capabilities). However, sticking points persist—interpretive differences, the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports/Hormuz access, and limited progress from recent Islamabad negotiations. Any fresh updates on truce durability, extensions, or escalation risks could drive sharp swings in risk assets and oil (which has eased modestly on de-escalation hopes but remains elevated). The ongoing “fear-hope cycle” keeps sentiment headline-driven.

We start with a narrow range. This means the market, including the institutions, are confused as to the next move. This tells us to be patient, wait for the break, then get aboard. We are overbought.
