We broke out yesterday on the downside. Now be respectful of 2 trends, the daily and the 4 hour trend.
Fundamental context for day traders
The weaker-than-expected payrolls print reinforces the cooling-labor narrative that began with soft ADP data earlier in the week. Markets are pricing lower odds of aggressive Fed tightening, which has supported equities this morning. Oil and yields remain secondary variables. Geopolitical developments (Hormuz/Middle East) continue to influence energy and risk sentiment. Overall positioning remains constructive after the early-August rally, but the market is sensitive to any signs that soft jobs data is tipping into broader economic weakness.
Overall bias this morning: Mildly to moderately bullish post-NFP, with a buy-the-dip preference while price holds above ~53,900–54,000. A failure to hold the overnight lows would reopen downside toward 53,700–53,500. Monitor follow-through in the cash session and any secondary comments on the jobs data.
