Day-Trading Scenarios for Aug 4, 2026

A repeat of yesterday on earnings blowouts for Caterpillar and Palantir.

Don't change the strategy that is working. First buying support comes in around 53770 followed by 53620. In an overbought market -- do not chase.

E-mini Dow September 2026 futures are trading higher in the Globex session. Recent CME and delayed quotes show levels around 53,900–53,970, up roughly +600 to +640 points (~+1.2%) from Monday’s cash close / prior references. Day’s range so far has extended toward the high 53,900s.

Implied cash open is firmly higher, indicating continued momentum.

Day-trading notes:

• Watch the open for gap-and-go continuation vs. partial fill/consolidation. Strong volume above the overnight highs favors momentum trades; rejection near 54,000 could set up two-sided range trading.

• Earnings (including any follow-through on Palantir and upcoming reports) and order flow at the new highs will be key.

• Risk management remains critical given the elevated levels and recent volatility—use the $5 multiplier on YM with appropriate position sizing relative to key levels and your risk tolerance.

• Momentum currently favors the bulls, but large overnight gaps often see some retracement; trade confirmed levels and price action rather than pure extrapolation.
