Day-Trading Scenarios for Apr 27, 2026

Market consolidating which means we are waiting for it to break the opening 30 minute range.

Previous Day Recap (Friday, April 24, 2026)

Settlement: The YM June '26 contract settled at 49,392, down 98 points (-0.20%) from the prior close.

Session Range: Opened around 49,423, traded as high as ~49,598 and as low as ~49,243, with solid volume (~84,500 contracts).

Cash Dow Jones Industrial Average: Closed at approximately 49,230.71, also down ~0.16% (-79.59 points).

Market Context: US stock indexes were mixed. The S&P 500 rose ~0.80% and the Nasdaq gained strongly (~1.86–1.95% in futures), driven by tech strength. The Dow lagged slightly, reflecting relative underperformance in more cyclical/value-oriented components

Key levels to watch today:

  • Resistance: 49,500–49,600 (recent area), then 49,770–49,941, and psychological 50,000.

  • Support: 49,229–49,250 (Friday's low), then 49,050 and deeper at 48,861.

  • Bias: Mildly bullish on dips as long as the major pivot low (~45,065, though more immediately the 48,000–49,000 zone) holds. Short-term charts show some consolidation after recent highs near 50,900+ in the 52-week range.

  • Momentum indicators (e.g., RSI) have shown some negative divergence in places, suggesting potential for cautious trading or mean-reversion pullbacks, but the overall structure favors buyers on weakness unless support breaks.

We start with a narrow range. This means the market, including the institutions, are confused as to the next move. This tells us to be patient, wait for the break, then get aboard. We are overbought.
