Day-Trading Scenarios for Jun 12, 2026

We had one banker's flush trade long already before the open.

Our job today is a couple more longs on pullbacks then be done for the week.

The cash Dow Jones Industrial Average closed sharply higher at 50,848.75, up 929.97 points (+1.86%). This represented a strong rebound from the previous day's heavy losses.

  • Session action: Markets rallied on a relief bounce, with strength in industrials, financials, and select cyclicals. Chip/tech stocks also rebounded, aiding broader sentiment. Positive developments around U.S.-Iran relations (Trump signaling a potential deal and canceling planned strikes) helped ease geopolitical fears, supporting risk assets and pressuring oil prices lower.

  • Futures (YM) reflected the upside, trading in a firm range and closing with solid gains amid the de-escalation headlines.

  • Broader context: This followed the sharp selloff on Wednesday tied to CPI and ongoing tensions.

  • Major catalyst: University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment (Preliminary) at 10:00 AM ET, along with inflation expectations. Expectations around 46.0 (prior 44.8). A stronger read could support consumer/health of the economy narrative; weaker might highlight caution amid geopolitics and inflation.

  • Geopolitics: Focus remains on U.S.-Iran developments. Any progress toward a deal or de-escalation could extend the relief rally; renewed tensions or oil spikes would pressure sentiment.

We start with a narrow range. This means the market, including the institutions, are confused as to the next move. This tells us to be patient, wait for the break, then get aboard. We are overbought.
