Day-Trading Scenarios for Mar 2, 2026

Obvious down trend. However, we have rallied over 500 points from the low of 48166.
As far as our trading methodology goes. Smaller number of contracts, larger stops, and shorting when overbought is the way to go. Two or three good trades and you are done for the day.
The fundamental backdrop is dominated by war tensions following weekend strikes, which have jolted markets and driven a risk-off tone. This has led to surging oil prices (Brent up over 10% and WTI similarly elevated on fears of supply disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz) and a flight to safe havens like gold (up 2-3%). Higher energy costs could exacerbate inflation pressures, complicating the Federal Reserve's path and reducing odds of near-term rate cuts (now below 10% for March).
Short 275 point rallies.
