Day-Trading Scenarios for Jan 23, 2026

The market is consolidating recent volatility.

Next support is 49243. Resistance is 49537,then 49625. Trade both ways this morning.

Economic Strength: Third-quarter GDP was revised upward to 4.4% annualized growth (better than the initial 3.8% estimate and the strongest back-to-back quarters since 2021), fueled by stronger exports and inventories. This underscores a healthy economy, with the Atlanta Fed's Nowcast projecting Q4 GDP at 5.3%. However, inflation remains sticky—core PCE held at 2.8%, and YoY PPI hit 3.0% (highest since July)—potentially delaying further Fed rate cuts. The Fed is unlikely to ease next week, with markets pricing in steady rates amid solid data.

We start with a narrow range. This means the market, including the institutions, are confused as to the next move. This tells us to be patient, wait for the break, then get aboard. We are overbought.
